About Us
Aspire Foundation was set up on 18th July 2016 as a public charitable trust with an aim of improving the infrastructure of the government schools, funding economically backward students for education, health etc.
Why we exist ?
A significant percentage of our brothers and sisters still live below the poverty line and have a hand to mouth existence. Government sponsored social welfare schemes have made a difference but they have their limitations.
Lending a helping hand to the needy is our duty and we at Aspire strongly believe in the motto “Ask not what your country can do for you, Ask what you can do for your country."
Underprivileged sections of our society irrespective of case creed or religion with special focus on children from lower income families.

Mr. Subhaschandra Sankalkar
Managing Trustee
Subhaschandra Sankalkar is the
Managing Trustee of Aspire Foundation.
Born in a remote village in coastal Karnataka,
he completed his primary and high school education in his village. He completed his
post-graduation in Economics from Mumbai University. In his professional career of over
21 years, he worked in various multinational organisations in the Middle East and occupied senior positions. After returning to India, he along with his wife Trupti Nayak has started a boutique Hotel named Hotel Tranquil Manipal.
He is a firm believer in the transformative power of quality education and founded Aspire Foundation to help economically underprivileged children in their pursuit of knowledge and help them financially.
Dr. Girish Menon
Trustee
A reputed neurosurgeon, Girish is a well-known name in the neurosurgical fraternity. Trained in a reputed national institute, Girish has been associated with premier neurosurgical institutes and has trained numerous neurosurgery residents throughout his career. With special interest in e cerebrovascular surgery and epilepsy surgery, Girish has helped in establishing several neurosurgical units in India and abroad.
Dr. Sudha Menon
Trustee
A practicing ophthalmologist, Sudha Menon has over 30 years of professional experience. Having completed her medical schooling and ophthalmology residency from Government Medical college, Trivandrum, Sudha has served in reputed ophthalmological centres both in India and abroad. Currently working as faculty at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal,
Sudha has a keen interest in art, music, literature and wishes to devote her life for philanthropic activities.
Ms.Trupti Nayak
Trustee
Originating from Mumbai, her formative years laid the foundation for a robust educational and personal framework. She possesses a Post-Graduation degree in Banking and MBA in Finance. Over a span of more than 13 years, she gathered experience in various multinational banks before relocating to Manipal in 2013.
She actively contributes as a member of the Platform of Women Entrepreneurs in Udupi and served as a Joint Secretary
during the 2022-23 term.
Guided by a strong belief in the power of education and empowerment, her role as the
Trustee at the Aspire Foundation is
fully committed to broadening educational opportunities for underprivileged children. This dedication contributes to nurturing their overall growth and progress.
